Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

On power up, blank screen, no back light, caps lock blinks white twice, pause, then twice again, etc

No external devices connected

Tried holding Windows Key + B (also V), holding power button down 2-3 seconds, releasing power button. No change

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hey There! @ted_roxx,

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

The error indicates the main area (DXE) of BIOS has become corrupted, and there is no recovery binary image available. (Also happens when updating the BIOS.)

Try performing BIOS recovery with an external media (USB or CD-ROM). For information on how to restore the BIOS refer to the HP support document: HP Notebook PCs - Restoring the BIOS.

Refer this article to know more information about recovering the BIOS. Click Here

Note: Refer step 3 to know how to create a BIOS recovery flash drive.

Also, refer this article to know more information about blinking lights on your PC. Click Here

Let me know how it goes!
