Looks like hp was generating recovery passwords based on the System Disabled message after a bios lockout.  Could someone do the same for mine please!

You should have written it down -- as we have no way of accessing or recovering it, nor do you -- NOW.

BIOS (and Power) passwords are encoded into the firmware of the motherboard and we have no access of any kind to that. Changing such a password requires completely replacing the motherboard with a new one that does NOT have a password encoded into the firmware -- and that usually costs a LOT more than simply replacing the computer.

have you seen the previous posts though.  They were clearly giving the HP rep the ID in the system lockout and they were coming back with a code

The reps can NOT retrieve a lost password; there is simply NO WAY to do that.

That post is nearly six years old -- and forum policies have changed since then.

For a Disable code, Make a record of the code and enter it at the site below:

https://bios-pw.org/

When you then reboot the PC, enter the code from then linked site and you should get access back.
