Like you said it was the motherboard and it was working fine, I downloaded a new bios ver. F68. when the process
was completed it restarted. now it says no operating system (3F0).
I restarted and ran bios test and it passed test.
I tried to rollback to ver. F 43 and it can find it. Please can you send me that version.

You referencing material in a prior post, and no such post is linked to this one.
Plus. that error code (3F0) indicates a failed hard drive and has nothing to do with the BIOS version.
Additionally, we do not send firmware to folks; instead, we point you to a link on the HP forums where you can download it.
But without knowing the detailed product number of your PC, I have no idea where to look: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001
We can proceed when you provide the information.
Thanks

Excusme, but I was updating the bios with version f68. I downloaded the bios file on HP website (sp76843)
I clicked on that file and started doing the update, once finished it reboot and that's when I get black screen with
no operating system, and seconf message no hard drive found error 3F0.
Hp envy 15T - j100, this is hp error and the have to send me the old bios version F43. I am not spending anymore money and time on this notebook.

Presuming your PC is the Select Edition running Win8.1, this is the drivers and software page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-15-j100-Select-Edition-Notebook-PC-series/65...
You should download and run the BIOS update for version F.56.
As I said, we do not send firmware out to folks.

Hi Wawood, I have tried rollback to the previous version(f43) and it can't find the file. Then I downloaded the file that you said with my laptop and copied it to a usb drv. That HP envy stops on message and it doesn't load windows.
I can go to bios menu, choose firmware and select usb drive and location of the file. but it doesn't run file is only in windows
is there any way I can get this in a dos file? or a .bio

Basically, yes -- you can get in the form of a .bin file -- but it involves a little work.
The archive utility 7-Zip can extract the contents of softpaq files into their constituent parts.
If you run that against the BIOS update file, it will extract out the components you need.
You can get 7-zip from here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
Good Luck

Hi I was able to download the zip extractor and I opened the file. there was file name 01966.fd but no .bin file
I getting tired of this, that was HP fault. when I ran the update in windows, i waited until it was completed and the rebooted itself. That is when it gave an error missing operating system. error F30.

Hi Wanwood, you know after the update, I don't think the sytem recognizes the hard drive. is there any way I can define
devices manually like old way(pc running DOS). may be I can get the Bios version F43, this laptop has windows 7 64bit
By the way it is not HP fault, my apologies.

Hi Wanwood, I did solved the puzzle. All I have to do after the Bios update is to hit F11 to go into setup and it would regognize the old config. I just got to get a new battery that battery is defective. every time that put it in laptop, laptop will not turn. THANK YOU for your help.
