Stream 11
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP  Stream 11 has crashed and will not boot.

I wish to download the Windows 10 install program so I can boot and install from a USB drive.

Can I download this from the HP site ?

Yes to both ...

The way the MS download tool usually does this is that it checks what you have installed already when you run the download tool to ensure that you download the same version.

But since you have to use a different PC to do the download, just be sure that you download the SAME VERSION of Win10 that you have on the PC.

Good Luck

It's available from Microsoft.

After you have the install media created ona USB stick, instead of reinstalling the OS, you should first see if you can repair the boot loader files with it.

To do that, follow the instructions in the link:  http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html

Thanks, that was a good and prompt response.

I take it that

  • it is Windows 64 bit I wish to install.
  • the windows will automaticall create a USB boot disk that the Stream will recognize.

Thanks again
