Hi Everone,
I bought another Hp laptop at the local pawn shop (Pawn Plus - have receipt) super cheap as it had a corrupted Windows 8.1 O.S. and would not boot up. I repaired Windows and now the laptop looks and works great! I noticed it had a BIOS password and I can't get passed it. After three tries it locks up and displays: 56188182. I tried removing the CMOS battery but the BIOS password will not reset to default. Can anyone out there help? It is such a nice working laptop but would like to also get access to the BIOS.
Thanks,
BY

Thanks Dean.
That was almost too easy. Sure is a lot easier than taking apart a perfectly good laptop to remove the CMOS battery - but I learned a lot from the experience.
Again, thanks so much for your help.
Bob Y.
