The above notebook seems to have a corrupt BIOS as I get "The system BIOS is recovering from error on start BIOS recovery 500". It loops constantly to this error. I have followed this article http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443505 with no success. I have downloaded the updated BIOS file and followed the process in the above article to create a BIOS recovery drive, however I am not seeing the option to create the USB drive, which seems to be because HPQRUN.exe is failing ot run. I am getting a text file created that says the following:
"2017/01/23 09:50:20.524|00001F4C|Information|WinMain|Command Line:"F:\hpqRun.exe"

If i look in the map.ini mentioned, it does not contain the system ID 339A
Can anybody please tell me if there is a different way to create the USB drive, for example could I create a bootable drive and then copy the BIOS files to it to run from the drive when booted. YOur help is much appreciated.
