Looks like a similar problem has been discussed for HP Pavillion, but I want to start this thread for users like me who have an HP Envy, who upgraded to Windows 10, but now it will not wake up from sleep, either when I close the lid, when it is left on too long, or when powered down in sleep mode. I have to power it down (holding the power button for 10 seconds), then restarting.
I am not the geekiest person, so the suggestion in the Pavillion thread to "Revert to Windows 8.1" is meaningless because I need more specific instructions on how to do this.
Is there a patch planned for this, either from HP or Microsoft?

I found a solution. It's still has some bugs to fix but for now, waking it up from sleep works. here's a link to a step by step proceedure
It worked for me, hope it works for you.

I tried it, and am happy to report that Paa_Yaw's solution seems to work (at least after the first time I opened the lid back up) after updating the drivers according to the instrucions on your link. I am pasting the instructions here, in case they got lost:
- On the Desktop, right-click on This PC and select Properties
- On the left, choose Device Manager
- Click the arrow next to Display Adaptors to expand that category
- Right-click on Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and select Update Driver Software...
- Choose the option to Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software
- Your computer should find and automatically install the updated driver
- After the installation is complete, restart your computer
One clarification is that in the first step, it says
- On the Desktop, right-click on This PC and select Properties
It should say:
- On the Desktop, right-click on File Explorer, then right-click on This PC and select Properties.
I will report back after several tries of sleeping-waking to let you know if this seems to be a long-term fix.

I have ENVY 15 K101TX; and I'm facing the same problem after upgrading to WIN10.
Whenever I try to shut down the Laptop, it just doesn't shutdown completely. The screen goes blank but the power light and fan stays on. I have to press & hold to shut down the laptop. And we all know it's not a solution.
And it also doesn't come back after sleep mode. I have to force shut down and start it again.
I have checked all the power options and have tried all the things possible.
Any one?

OK, it's been a couple of weeks since I posted. I reverted back to Windows 8.1, and that solved the wake-up/shut down, but I lost all of my apps including Microsoft Office. So I had to call MS again, and after a loooong wait for MS to call back, an agent came on, and suggested that he help me re-upgrade to 10. He installed an app on my deskto called "Window.ISO", and went through and re-upgraded to 10 using that app. He then helped me reinstall all my MS apps. Things are now working OK, except that I have problems with some folders not allowing me to write to them, even after ANOTHER call to MS. I think that is now 4 sessions with MS.. I don't think I can endure another one.
