Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the computer is asking to "power on password" and you need assistance with the same,

You would have to contact HP phone support for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.

If you wish to help others looking for the same solution as you've found, mark the post as Accepted Solution.

Hi @frankiel218

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

If this is related to forgotten/unknown Windows password, please check this article >> http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/I-forgot-my-password-can-HP-help...

If this is related forgotten/unknown BIOS password prompt which appears when you attempt to enter BIOS or start your PC, it probably produces an error code - like "system disabled" or "halted" . If yes, can you post the codes here in your reply ? I will provide you with next step.
