Product: HP-15 r-007TX
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I bought an arduino uno board and plugged in to my laptop but no devices were detected in device manager.The 'unknown devices' tag also didnt appear in device manager.So i clicked  to 'action' in device manager and clicked on 'add legacy hardware' and added a   'Port and LPT' to device manager window but it shows an exclamation mark on it saying that 'this device cannot start.(code 10). can anyone help me how to resolve it?
