Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I want to disable BIOS memory such as cashing or shadowing.    Was told to do this on a computing net forum because of system memory dump on sign off

What model computer? This is advice we used to commonly see in the old 486 and Pentium I days and you don't see the option to enable and disable cacheing  any more as it is not really an issue.

It is a P7-1222.

I was told on Computing.net to disable these as I am getting a system memory dump after signing off of AOL and shutting down right away.

That is an Intel Core 2d gen desktop system. All I can really tell you to do is go into the BIOS (hit F10 or esc + F10 as you power up) and look for an option to turn off caching. This is not it but it would look something like this:

See System BIOS cacheable and video BIOS cacheable? Those features write a shadow image of the BIOS contents and the video memory contents to a hidden file in system RAM. Used to be a big deal in the 486 days but no longer really required so if you have the option turn it off.
