Ultrabook 4-1101ss
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I did a compnent check of the battery and it came back with error code 42 and an ID code # 6C3TSK-66W87W-XD7X1F-C0FB03. My battery has not been charging for a while and the battery icon reads 3% available, plugged in not charging.

It is an integrated battery so I don't think I can take it out on my own.

Thanks for any help!

The Failure id indicates that the battery needs to be serviced o replaced. Try this first before anything else.

Go to Device Manager and look for Battery

Double click or expand the Battery

Right click on Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery and uninstall it

Turn the computer off completely by pressing and holding the power button down for 5 seconds

Unplug the charge and check if you could unplug the battery as well

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds

Plug in the battery

Plug in the charger

Turn the computer back on and check if the charging change status

If not then download the latest Bios update from HP's website http://support.hp.com/ and search using the product number then go to Software and Drivers and look for BIOS.

Cheers!
