Probook 6560b
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (Pro, 64 bit) my sound won't switch to the speakers attached to my docking station, i.e. my stereo amplifier/receiver. I do get the expected behaviour when I plug the 3.5mm plug directly into the laptop. I never experienced this problem before upgrading to Windows 10.

My problem is with the VB044AV docking station, unfortunately I have no other docks to test this with. Other connections in my setup (e.g. USB, DisplayPort and LAN) do still work as they used to.

When I plug an Elitebook 8460p that's still runing Windows 7 into the same dock the music does switch to the speakers attached to the dock.

I've recently updated my audio drivers and am running the lastest versions of all of my drivers, according to my device manager.

The hardware has been upgraded slightly since it came out of the factory. I'm not sure how this can be relevant, but just to be sure:

  • I still have the Intel i5-2540M.
  • HDD has been replaced with a 256GB WD SSD.
  • Optical drive has been removed and replaced with a 750GB HDD.
  • I've added an additional 4GB of RAM (HP spare part from another machine).

My BIOS-version is 68SCE Ver. F.63 (27-05-2016). Which I can/should update, but I'm not expecting it to be the solution to my current problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can solve this? Please feel free to ask for any information that I may have forgotten.
