Elite X2 1012
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a range of MicroSD cards trying to get working in the EliteX2.  Support pages mention support for MicroSDXC and capacities up to 200GB, but I cannot get either of the following cards to work.

  • Samsung EVO+ 128G
  • EMTEC microSD Class10 Gold+ 64G

Device Manager delivers the familiar "Device Failed to Start" without much more insight. Both cards work fine when inserted into a USB based card reader. They are formatted as exFAT. Interestingly, NTFS seems to be problematic even with the USB card reader, but don't necessarily need to solve that one toady if I can get the built-in device to work.

The internal reader does work with SanDisk Ultra 8G MicroSDHC.

Is this a driver issue, or a card technology issue?

Regards and thanks in advance
