Hi i have a pavillion dv6-6140us and i need to know which wifi card i need to purchase so i can use my faster 5g network

The link provided for the HP BIOS Mods doesn't match your Product Number. So no you can't use those MODs. But I can atest already on one of the Mods I tried I was able to use AC+BT wifi card-so now I have Dualband.

BTW, Millions of folks have gone back from Win10 to their prior O/S -- something you don't hear about from MS. by WAWood but ALL to TRUE

Hi,

This series doesn't support any 5GHz wireless adapter. The whitelist is still in place so sorry to tell you but there is nothing you can do to have an internal 5GHz wifi.

The only option, other than using a usb dongle, would be to upgrade your Bios to a Modded bios that removes the whitelist.

 

I upgraded my bios yesterday from F.1b to F.02Modded and was able to install a $26 wireless card(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PDLCFL8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00), and now I have a connection speed of 866.7Mbps. Plus, the new bios gives me a lot more control over my notebook. This has some
