Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Model: M1W82UA#ABA

The webcam *hardware* is missing from Device Manager.

Youcam™ doesn't see it installed

Windows 10 Camera App doesn't see it installed

Showed up under hidden items in Device Manager, however said it wasn't plugged in.  To verify this, I removed the driver from Device Manager, and tried to detect hardware changes.  It didn't detect the webcam.

Verified that there was no option to enable/disable webcam in BIOS

Performed BIOS update

Booted into safe mode, tried to detect hidden devices/drivers - nothing listed.

Downloaded and ran http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_151697_1#tab-history

Webcam still doesn't show in Device Manger.

Verified that both Windows Update and HP Support Assistant show laptop is current on all software updates

I'm at the point where I am tempted to find the technicians hardware guide for this laptop to dissassemble and verify that the webcam is actually plugged in.

Laptop has 1y8m left on warranty
