Pavillion 17-f049nd
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Device manager says my Pavillion notebook has an AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 0100 (Microsoft).

Does this mean my notebook has one or more USB 3 ports?

What does it mean anyway?

Hi,

Yes, that means your machine has one or more USB 3.0 ports. The specs won't help:

But you can check, USB port has SS symbol nect to it (SS is for Super Speed I think). Based on its manual, it has 1 USB 2.0 port on the right and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the left:

USB 3.0 ports give much better speed over USB 2.0
