Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I am having a strange problem with my HP PVILION g6-2305sq NOTEBOOK.

The status LED of the power supply is not on if my notebook keyboard is connected to the motherboard. The notebookis not reacting if I press the power on button. Only after I disconnected my keyboard the status LED of the power supply came back to green and I could start the notebook. I have to mention that the touchpad is working properly.

Now I am using an external USB keyboard.

I was wondering if some of you have evere experienced this problem, and could help me with the following questions

1. Do you think the motherboard is demmaged or only the keyboard?

2. Is there a software with witch I could test my motherboard is 100% working propperly(because I want to avoid purchasing a new keyboard if itțs not necessary)?

3. If I decide to purchase a brand new keyboard, I was wondering if a backlit keyboard would be compatible with my notebook model?

Thank you.
