I have a problem. It just showed up for an unknown reason. Pavilion 13 x360 When the laptop is plugged in, the battery icon in the tray states "plugged in but not charging". I checked all the connection points and nothing has changed.

I also have a Pavilion 13 x360 with the same 'not charging' issue but I don't have enough battery life to run the tests. If I decide to replace the battery, there's no battery slot - just 8 screws, will HP send me instructions to access the battery? (I certainly won't be purchasing another HP laptop since the battery died less than 2 years after purchase!)

Hi! @KD_Laptop, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand you are getting plugged In but not charging error on your PC.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
Have you tried charging your laptop with a different adapter?
Check if the pin inside the DC (Charging) port is broken or bent.
Please try the steps recommended below.
Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Step 09. Look for "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon
And you cannot remove the battery from this PC, Batter is not a customer replaceable part.
You have to contact HP support for service options.

Let me know how it goes!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
