Pavilion 15-p239
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there

I have a HP Pavilion 15 p239sa laptop, bought last year with Windows 10 pre-installed

Ive never needed to use the built-in SD card reader until yesterday, and its not working.

The computer plays the 'new thing connected' noise when I insert an SD card, but it doenst appear as a drive in This PC, and it doesnt appear in Disk Management.

In Device Manager, Ive updated  the Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller. No joy

Ive tried installing various versions of the Realtek driver, including the one from the HP website. No joy.

Ive tried different SD cards - sometimes it plays the 'new thing connected' sound but the disk doesnt appear, sometimes it does nothing at all.

Its basically like the Card Reader doesnt exist. according to my laptop.

What do I do now? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
