I want to replace the bottom case cover of a pavilion dv6 3127dx. I have found replacesments on amazon and ebay, but I noticed a difference. While the plastic body is the same (3ELX6TP003), but the replacements do not appear to have the following:
- what looks like silver colored conductive fabric tape in various places
- black foam cushioning, including in the area where the hard drive sits.
I'm wondering if these are important or critical, or if I can just simply use the case without them.
It's been a good laptop and would like to use it a little longer.
The reason to replace it is that the corner of the bottom case, right next to one of the screen hinges has broken off. The broken piece is also where the the hinge had screwed into. So it's important that I replace it.
thanks for any info.
