USB ports not working on Pavilion G6

Hi , can anyone help me with this issue regarding USB ports ?none of the USB ports on this machine are working ..

I have tried some options  but the issue is not fixed .this is a pavilion g6 laptop 64 bit ,and i have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 ( after which the problem started actually ) .

-i have tried to install AMD catalyst but its not working 

-i have tried to install the USB 3.0 update but it is not working

-i have also tried to upgrade system drivers and it is not working .

Thanks it did work.for all 3 ports on the lap top you have to do it 3 times .thanks again

I have a similar problem on my Pavilion G6. None of the USB ports are working. Problem started out two weeks ago when the laptop began playing the USB connected and disconnected notification sounds even when there was no USB device attached. Three days ago none of the USB ports were working. I've checked out the information on the link provided (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/usb-devices-not-working-windows) but even if I attach a USB device to any of the ports, there is no difference in the list of USB devices in Device Manager. Please help.
