Re: how to enter bios pavilion dv7

Hi:

Normally, you tap the F10 key at the HP welcome screen.

Why do you believe you have two seperate hard drives? You might just have two partitions on one hard drive.

Re: how to enter bios pavilion dv7

well,

the device manager says there are two (from the same kind though: fujitsu mhz 2 320 BH G 2 (320 GB)),

and the Ubuntu installer also identifies them as sda and sdb

Re: how to enter bios pavilion dv7

It is two hard drives, but the secondary drive is not bootable. The second drive is for storage only and is actually not a true SATA connection. It is usb emulating SATA.

Re: how to enter bios pavilion dv7

I hit F10 but in the setting list the BIOS was blue and no way to select it.

Is there another way to get in?

Re: how to enter bios pavilion dv7

If you have a recent model notebook (<2 years old), you often have to tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to access the various menus such as accessing the BIOS.

HP Pavilion Indio-UL8E MS-7613 Motherboard Rev0D

I have installed a new motherboard into my HP Pavilion.

I have tried to update the BIOS for this motherboard and since doing this it is not possible to change the sata controller mode from RAID to anything ese - it will not save the settings.
I have replaced the CMOS battery and changed the CMOS jumper but nothing has worked. Can anyone provide the original BIOS file so I can try and re-flash it?

Or does anyone have any other suggestion?

Many thanks
