I've been trying to reinstall Windows XP on this laptop and it gets to format ntfs and it gets to like 6% then it shuts down. It doesn't reboot, just shuts down, If i try to repair it, it shuts down as well. Kinda in a pickle here

Hi,
It looks that you have problem with overheating.

I have already done this and infact i went out and bought an external fan for the laptop and the inside temp is below a normal computer, It is quite cool. So not quite sure what it would be, if its not a heating issue. I also just replaced the motherboard

It looks then GPU is faulty. It is a common issue with this models.
Usually reflowing GPU (graphic chip) solves this kind of problem.
Many informations about this solution you may find here.
I recommend you especially post number 9 which is written by CherylG.
