HP 4530s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am currently trying to install Docker toolbox on my HP 4530s (Windows 10 pro) machine.

I have tried to access the UEFI firmware via the path:

 [ Windows desktop > Settings > update & Security > Recovery > Advanced Startup (Restart Now) > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > ..... .

I was supposed to see the < UEFI Firmware settings> here, but rather, i get a "Return to previous known build" option.

I then tried to access my BIOS but I cannot remember my BIOS password from 4  years ago.

i will really need the best of help i can get on recovering the password or more specifically -  ensuring I enable my Intel VT-x.

Serial number  - [Personal Information Removed]

Model number - A7K05UT#ABA

 thanks.

Contact HP and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

When talking to the HP rep ask them to escalate your service request.
