Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

 

HP only produces a BIOS update that works in Win8 for your PC, not in Win8.1.  You could try downloading and running that, but it is unlikely to work due to OS version mismatch:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/Compaq-CQ58-200-Notebook-PC-series/5296096/model/531...

 

If all you are trying to do is restore the BIOS, then follow these steps:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833
