hp Pavilion A6 Vision
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

We have a older Hp Pavilion,   came with Win 8 and upgraded to 8.1 .  Gradually running poorly and now has the Black/Dark  blue screen between commands that others appear to be havng also?   System restore seems to be the fix.  Wondering if we do this and go back to factory specs.   will this take us back to  8 or   8.1???    Thanks for any help

Hi,

Usually resetting to factory OS returns laptop to operating system with which it came with pre installed.

But if you've upgraded to 8.1, then recovery partition may not work in most cases. It might have got corrupted.

You've to use recovery USB/DVD that you must have created after first setup of this laptop, to do the factory reset.

If you have not created it, order recovery USB from HP.
