hello everyone
I have a HP ProBook 6440b. the CPU is intel core i7 M640. it is running Windows 7 Home 64-bit. I am trying to upgrade it to Windows 10 using Windows 10 Upgrade assistant and it is giving me error. It says "Windows 10 will not run on this PC. The CPU isn't supported (NX)."
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi:
I suggest you install the upgrade from the DVD (Make your own from the link below--media creation tool).
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The DVD will bypass any hardware checks.
Also, when you install W10 from the disk, skip the check for updates when you are prompted.

Thanks Paul, it worked very well. but i still have one issue with my ProBook 6440b.. it is about 2 of the function keys. the screen brightness function keys won't work either with holding the fn key or not. other function keys work fine. I looked at the manuals on hp documentation website but couldn't find a solution. The keyboard driver is up-to-date. Could it be a Window 10 compatibility issue?
Could you (or someone else) suggest a fix for this issue too?
thank you.

You're very welcome.
If the graphics driver is installed, I would agree that since the notebook is not supported by HP for W8, 8.1 or W10, and there are drivers for the other Fn Keys, you will have to live with the issue and adjust the brightness in the control panel>power options.
Check to make sure there is a model graphics adapter (such as Intel) listed under the display adapters device manager category.
If you see a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed, there, that means the graphics driver is missing and that could be a reason why the FN keys don't do anything to adjust the brightness.
