hp Officejet 4630 B4LO3A

Color ink cartridge was empty so I put the new one in.   The screen said it was printing the "Scan" page but never did.  I turned it off and back on and was told to "Pull out paper tray.  Load plain paper then press ok."  I pressed ok and was told the printer was "Now printing alignment page..."  It did not print anything so I pressed "Cancel".  It would not cancel so I shut it off.  When I turned it back on we went through the same instructions with the same results.

I did get an ERROR CODE OXCA4EB92C3 HW_MICC12 C

I did get the printer to start working after lots of playing around.  What did I do wrong in the first place?  Maybe I shouldn't have cleaned the inside of the printer.

I see that you are getting stuck on this error message "OXCA4EB92C3 HW_MICC12 C". I would be glad to assist you with this.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

What is the Operating System installed on the PC?

Are you using genuine Ink cartridges?

Did you make any changes on the printer before the issue started?

The first thing I would suggest is to ensure that the printer is getting enough power. It is recommended to have the printer plugged into the wall outlet directly and not a power surge protector. This may sound silly but it is a good way to ensure power is not a factor and may eliminate any unnecessary troubleshooting. If the printer is not getting the required power it may have jams and feed problems, it may also result in error messages and poor quality.

Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer:

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to clean the cartridge contacts as well as the rollers

For more details, please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Inkjet Printers - 'Alignment Unsuccessful' Error Message Displays

If nothing works, the next thing would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer. Please respond to this post with the details for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

I did try to clean the printer with alcohal and a q-tip before inserting the color cartridge which was an HP tri-color cartridge.  I alway use the HP cartridges.
