HP Envy 17

Computer is plugged in, battery shows 0%, light by the plug on the side is orange and if I remove the battery, the light is white.

Hi,

 

Please try the following steps

 

  • Disconnect AC (Charger),
  • Shutdown the machine,
  • Remove battery,
  • Connect AC,
  • Reboot the machine,
  • Open Device Manager,
  • Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the ACPI Compliant Control Method Batterylistings, and  select Uninstall,
  • Shutdown the machine,
  • Disconnect AC,
  • Insert battery,
  • Connect AC,
  • Reboot the machine.

Hi,

 

Thank you for the advice. It is still showing as, 'plugged in, not charging'. Not sure what to do next.
