Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I just purchased this used notebook last Monday (7/25). Everything seems to work perfectly and it is running Win 8.1.

I want to get it upgraded to Win 10 before the friday deadline, but the online update fails!

The download goes ok via Win-update, and the installation begins. can't tell how far it gets before the unit reboots to the normal 8.1 system and update tells me only that it failed. I've tried several times today.

I ran every single windows 8.1 update to bring it current before attempting the move to Win-10!

I also used HP support to upgrade it productwise!

time is running out....

Hi:

Try making the W10 DVD and run it from the windows desktop.  Use the media creation tool below.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

When you go to install W10, skip the check for updates.  Just let it run.
