product # F9H60UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I turn my laptop on and it starts updating. It stops updating at 87% and shows me Error: C0000022 applying update operation 90587 of 102804 (\regi\me...) Then immediately shows Fatal Error: C0000022 applying update operation 90587 of 102804 (\regi...). After about 15-20 minutes the screen turns dark. Can not do anything after that. Turn power off then on and the process repeats itself.

Hi,

Perform System Restore to an earlier point when the computer was working fine from Windows Recovery Environment.

1. Insert the Windows 8.1 Installation Disc; click on Repair your System.

Option 1 : create installation disc

2. Click on Advanced Startup Options.

3. Click on Windows Startup Settings.

4.If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

5. If you are using the Windows installation disc, click on System Restore.

6. Click on the Restore point during which the System was working fine.

7. Click on Apply, click on OK.
Check if you can boot the computer normally or not.

After booting to Windows, reset Windows Update Components, set the notebook in Clean Boot and then install the update manually:
Step 1: To reset Windows update components follow the steps in the article.

Step 2: Perform clean boot.
Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
