HP Stream Notebook PC13
I tried resetting my laptop due to the fact that it was running super slow. I tried to factory reset (F11 and follow the screens) i get to where it asks me about wanted to reset all or just my files & I reset all. It loads all the way up to 54% & says that it failed at resetting. However, now it no longer lets me start up the computer. It gets to the HP and continues to load than restarts and does the same thing over and over. Don't know what else to do.

Hello @Brittanymeranda

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting !

This is happening because the computer cannot successfully and fully load Windows. The recovery has failed and your PC does not have full operating system installed. The recovery may have failed due to hardware issue (e.g. your HDD) or because for some reason the recovery partition got corrupted

In order to assist you better, please

- provide your full PC model and product number - here is how to find them >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

- let me know if you run Windows 10 or if your PC previously used another OS (such as Windows 😎 and was later upgraded to Win 10.  Which Windows do you prefer ?

Please, perform some basic hardware checks

1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button

2. Power it on.

2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).

This should open a HP Startup Menu

3. Choose/press  F2  to open System Diagnostics. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform System Test >> Quick test.

This will check major hardware componets for issue (do it just in case) . Here is more info >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259#AbT1

If there are no system checks/no quick tests, perform hard disk test (HDD) and memory (RAM) check.

Let me know the test results.

Looking forward to your reply.
