Hi all
Yesterday when I was starting my laptop a message came up advising me to run HP PC hardware diagnostics by pressing F2. I did and a message came up stating:
Failure ID: 90E3PQ-75B8KA-MFPV7G-60ED03
Product ID: F9T18EA#ABU
Serial number is 5CD42102WZ. The message warned me that it had been detected that my hard drive may be about to crash and to back it up (I have know how cloud installed and my files are constantly backed up).
Since then I have been able to use the laptop with no issues, but the message has concerned me, especially as I can't figure out how to bet back into the PC hardware diagnostics screen to run the check again.
Any advice appreciated.

Yes hard drive is definitely failing and will completely die soon. It's matter of time.
Since you've backed up, it's not a worrying issue
If you're within warranty, contacting HP with the failure ID would enable them to send you replacement hard drive.
Your laptop came with Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Use recovery media to factory reset after replacement
Alternatively you can clean install Windows 10 using Microsoft windows media creation tool by creating UEFI bootable installation USB, provided you have successfully upgraded and activated to Windows 10 previously.
