Can I install windows 7 Genuine OS designed for Dell  on my HP laptop.

You've to ENTER product key printed in COA sticker of HP laptop while doing installation with plain Windows 7 installation media.

I told: you cannot use Dell recovery discs or OS disc with volume licence key for Dell in your HP laptop.

The OS disk i got have written For Distribution Only With a New Dell PC.

did you mean the disk i have was already liscenced with Dell PC? and only be supported by Dell? It is still unopened, what if I try to install. does it cancel or notify me as not a genuine version. can u please tell me the consequences?
