HP Probook G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi All,

My Company recently purchased several Probook G3 computers with no OS. My IT department has installed Windows 7 32 bit on them. During my checkout and install of Aircraft specific software and setup, I noticed the computer seemed sluggish, and noted that trackpad, display, etc... did not perform correctly.

Upon looking up the Specs for the G3 I found that HP lists only Win 10 64 bit versions as operating system.

Although the computer seems to work with the Win 7, what kind of problems might we encounter? Should we upgrade to Win 10 before sending them out?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Alan

It is not necessarily the WIndows 7 that is the problem but the 32 bit. You have made any memory installed in the system over about 3.5 gigs useless. Probably explains the sluggishness. Also not sure where they found drivers for everything.

Probook 840 G3? HP does post Windows 7 drivers.

was running generic drivers for chipset, graphics, touchpad and wifi/bluetooth. Was only using 3.2 G of the 8 g ram installed.

Resolved issue today with CEO and finance in meeting regarding this issue, CEO mandated install of Win 10 64 bit per my request.

Thanks for replying!
