14-n001TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After I upgrade my HP 14-n001TX laptop to windows 10, it doesn't shutdown properly. It shutdown propely after working 5-10 minutes, but it doesn't shutdown properly after working more than 50 minutes-1 hour.  When I shutdown the laptop, screen turns off but fan, power button light and "f12" key light do not turn off.

Then I went to Power Options > Choose what the power button does > Change settings that are currently unavailable > UNCHECKED Turn on fast startup. But still problem hasn't solved.  As well as sleep mode in my laptop doesn't work properly. When I go to sleep mode screen turns off and rest works. But the laptop won't wake up again though I press a key. At that time I have to press & hold  the power button untill laptop shutdown. I have to do the same when my laptop doesn't shutdown properly.

(This problem occur even in windows 8.1). What's the solution for this problem?

Hi,

Try the following.

Open Settings and select System.  Select Power and sleep, then click on Additional power settings - in the following window, click on 'Choose what the power button does' in the left hand pane.

In the subsequent window, first click on 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' ( near the top of the Window ) and then remove the checkmark from the box against 'Turn on fast start-up (recommended)'.  Click the Save Settings button, then close any open windows and restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download the IMEI driver directly from Intel on the following link, unzip the package and run the installer.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26127/Intel-Management-Engine-Consumer-Driver-for-Intel-NU...

When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

When the machine has reloaded, re-enable Fast Start-up and reboot the notebook once again - let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

I followed all the steps respectively. Now my laptop is shutting down properly. Though I worked more than 1 hour, it shutdown properly. Now even sleep mode is working correctly.

Thank you very much.
