Product: HP 15
First msg, cannot authenticate boot. Took advice from forum, unplugged, took out battery, held down power button for 15 sec. Restarted tapped f2, and looked like all was good. Started system checks. Memory test good, smart check passed, short dst, failed. Does that mean my hard drive's bad?

Hi,
Did you get 24 character code ? Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char failure id indicates the HDD is failing and need to be replaced. Is it still under warranry ? If Yes, please call HP for a replacement.
