I turn my laptop on and it starts up with the HP screen and freezes I can't press f11 or any function key it won't go past the HP screen I've tried hard reset I've sat there and pressed different function keys over and over again and it will not let me get passed this screen any solutions would be greatly appreciated thankyou

hi ,

 

Have you tried Booting in to the unit BIOS .

 

Restart the unit and on boot keep tapping f10 to get into the unit BIOS .

 

If it get into the unit BIOS , Try updating the unit BIOS OR try BIOS defaults .

 

Else , Swap the unit memory or the HDD and  check do it boot into windows .

F10 doesn't do anything it's still on that screen after another restart

And I don't have a spare HDD or memory lying around

Is there a way I can force the safe mode page to pop up after a restart?

To get into the safe mode ,

 

restart the unit and keep tapping F8 to get into the safe mode .

Nope that doesn't work either

New development probably a different issue now it gets to the HP startup screen (doesn't freeze) but I've left it for an hour and it eventually! Loaded I've managed to reset to out of the box factory settings reformat etc and it's still doing that any ideas why it takes an hour to load?
