HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am having trouble correctly installing Ubuntu 16.10 on my HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook, in multiboot with the preinstalled WIndows 10.

At first i encountered the problem described here. I applied the workaround suggested there (adding the pci=noaer parameter to the kernel), and the error messages stopped.

I don't think Ubuntu is correctly installed, though: for example, i can't get the wifi to work. Also, it didn't seem to correctly install the proprietary drivers, which need to have SecureBoot disabled. I did disable it, but no proprietary driver was installed...

Did anybody manage to install it correctly?

Thanks in advance!

HP only warranties their PCs for the original OS that comes preinstalled on the PC. If you replace that or add another OS, then you take over full responsibility for supporting those changes.

Your best bet, since you are trying to run Ubuntu, is to post on the Ubuntu Forums -- where folks deal with situations like this all the time:  http://ubuntuforums.org/

Good Luck
