Pavilion Model 11-n001sa
Microsoft Windows XP

I have replaced the original hard drive, this had windows 10 installed.

This small laptop is idea for my Renault Clip software, so we need to install Windows XP pro.

I have tried different setting in the bios, XP is listed, so theres no reason for this not the install!

Using windows XP pro sp 2 & 3 installation disc, but keep getting the dreaded blue screen towards the end of the installation.

Come on HP I need your advise please.

Hi:

There is a very good reason XP will not install.

Intel did not provide any sata ahci drivers for the chipset your notebook has.

That is why you are getting the BSOD.  XP can't find the hard drive.

The last Intel based notebook chipsets that had support for XP were notebooks with the series 7 chipsets.

Not to mention the fact that you would not find any graphics or wireless drivers for XP even if you could get it to install (which you can't).

Thank you for the info, as you are probly aware XP is the better system to run diagnostic, the clip software will run on windows 7 pro? so they tell me, would I be able to install this?

I saw that service pack 3 contained sata driver, but was not aware there are different types.

Dam shame, these same laptops are ideal for car diagnostics.

You're very welcome.

Yes there are over a dozen different sata drivers that Intel uses, and only one will work on each chipset.

They didn't make one for XP because Microsoft ended support for XP before Intel developed your notebook's processor and chipset.

Would you be able to install W7?

Possibly.  I wouldn't know for sure.

I have seen posts where some folks could get W7 to work with no problem, and other posts where they couldn't, no matter what they tried.
