My sister-in-law passed away a couple of months ago and we now have her laptop. We cannot use it because there's a password screen that shows her name and her email and we dont have that password. It's a MS Outlook email address.
I've researched other password recovery tips here on the forum. I've downloaded a Daosoft recovery tool. I cant get the laoptop to boot up from the USB port. I've tried modifying the BIOS, disabling the Secure Boot and the CD Rom Boot. I've reordered the UEFI boot section so the USB device is listed first.
How can we bypass, change or remove this password in order to use the laptop? Is there a way to reinstall everything on the laptop? We're not worried about losing data - just want to use the laptop.

I was given a laptop that is owned by my church on which the password was unknown. The OS on the laptop is Win 10. I don't know if how I solved this was a fluke, but I created a password recovery disc on a thumbdrive using my personal laptop running Win 10. The first time I ran the password recovery process it failed. Without changing anything I ran the recovery routine a second time and it allowed access to the computer. I was then able to access User Manager and set a new local password. I then enabeled Administrator login using net user and set a password for the Administrator. The Administrator login was done as a safeguard as this laptop will be passed on to other users in the future.
