Laptop turns on for 15 sec than shuts down.

Laptop had shut down and would not turn on. I went to HP Support and was told to hold down power key and Mute key for 15 seconds. The laptop powered up but only stays on for 15 seconds and shuts down.

It suggests troubleshooting steps to determine if the problem is the battery, the power supply, or the system board.
