Started to reformat my D drive by mistake and canceled ASAP. I then turned off the pc and then back on and it said it repaired the D drive. However, when I clicked on the D drive it said I needed to format it to use it. How can I get the “recovery” D drive back or is it gone forever??

Hi,
As you had initiated formatting on Drive D, it can be recovered by reinstalling the complete OS using the recovery disk. Since once the files on drive D gets deleted, it cannot be recovered as Drive D is used to reinstall the OS using recovery manager.
Even if few files are missing, then you wont be able to reinstall OS using the recovery manager. If you have not created Recovery disk, then you can call HP Support to order one or you can place order by visiting your product driver site.

Hi,
You can try the steps listed below to create recovery disk for Windows 10 (Only if the required file are still available in Drive D), if not you can call up HP Support to order one.
