HP Pavilion dv6-6070ee
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I own a HP Pavilion dv6-6070ee entertainment notebook pc, Serial number : [personal information removed] , Product number :LL059EA#ABV.

Long story short, i have had problems with the hard disk that came with my laptop, so i had to switch to an SSD but, unfortunately, i could not clone the hard disk drive to my new SSD because the hard disk was really damaged so i had to install a new genuine copy of the windows 7 home premium 64bits that was originally on the laptop when i bought it.

The problem is, i have lost all the software that originally came with the original hard disk and now i don't even have a recovery partition ! plus the sound doesnt work , the camera the microphone and the finger print reader doesnt work and many many other things. please help im really really desperate, if only i can download a recovery partition so my laptop would return to normal thanks a lot.

PS: beats audio also comes with the laptop.

Thanks

Sorry, but it's getting increasingly harder to find recovery media for the older PCs, as places are running out of stock.

All you can really do at this point is go to this page and download and install the HP drivers for devices that aren't working properly: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6000-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-serie...

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

You said you installed a new "genuine copuy" of Win7 -- but that sounds like you used an MS DVD to do that -- and that was a BAD idea.

The ONLY way you can get the Recovery partition restored and get back what came with the PC is using something known as HP Recovery Media.

HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.

You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update". If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (800) 474-6836
---------------------------------------
However, HP Customer Support is generally not available on the weekends, so you might have to wait until Monday to contact them.
---------------------------------------

If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Thanks a lot for  your help, unfortunately i didn't find any recovery media on the page you provided it seems that hp doesn't offer it for my laptop anymore. Now i really don't know what to do because i also looked on the websites that u reffered me to and they don't have what im looking for either, i did however send an email to one of the websites asking them to try and find me an appropriate recovery partition and im still waiting for their reply.

Thanks a lot for your help WAWood .

Im really thankful for your help but i have 1 last question, should i download all the drives from the hp website ? because it seems there is more than one drive for each thing i thought maybe some other laptops like mine come with different graphic cards or other different hardware that require different drive for the same model.

thanks

Unfortunately, the HP site, when that are variations in model hardware, includes the drivers for ALL the models -- and without knowing the specific hardware in YOUR model, you don't know which driver to install.

But, my experience has been that the HP installer will not install drivers that don't work with your hardware; instead, it will generate an error message saying your PC doesn't meet the requirements for that driver.

So, you should download all of them if you don't know which hardware you have.
