Laptop was dropped... HDD died and I replaced it with a new one. Now I need to reinstall Windows 10. Where can I get a recovery DVD or USB drive?

Thanks for the information.
You should be able to order recovery media using this page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-g000-Notebook-PC-series/6545564/model/7298149
Scroll down to the bottom where it has Order Recovery Media.
Note that this is for the ORIGINAL OS on the PC -- Win8.1.
After the PC has been restored, it can be upgraded again to Win10 since it was already registered with the Microsoft Activation servers.
Good Luck

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
I read your post about needing the HP Recovery Kit and wanted to help -- but need more information.
I see you're running Win10. Did the PC come preinstalled with Win10? Or, did you upgrade it from a prior OS to Win10?
This is important as the recovery/reset method is different for the two situations.
We can proceed when you provide the answers.

Hello WAWood,
Thank you for responding.
I'm working on this laptop for a friend, when I asked him what was on the laptop, he didn't know what OS. But this laptop was purchased December 2014 so probably Win8... I'll see if I can get any info from the HP website about the original OS. I don't understand why HP doesn't offer recovery DVDs with the laptops. I'll let you know when I find out more.
EDIT ***** HP website did not have any info on this laptop... since it's out of warranty I can't call them without paying $60.

This is not HP specifically, but OEMs in general.
Since Win8 came out, the OEMs (including HP) have included a function with their PCs to allow the customer to create Recovery Media for free -- essentially, the cost of the media.
They then felt, evidently, that it was no longer necessary to include such media with new PCs.
