Product: Compaq Presario CQ62

I recently inherited a CQ 62 that was previously owned, but not in the loving way.  During the repair, I had to replace the hard drive.  The problem is that I can not get into the BIOS or any kind of boot menu to install a new OS.  When I try an administrator password which I do NOT know and I do not have the previous owner's contact info, after three tries it tells me a failure message and shows the number 53877439.  Any help out there?
