HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D120AV)

Purchased new HP Pavilion 15 Laptop on Nov. 23, 2022 (through Amazon) as gift for my college student. 9 months later now the battery won't hold a charge - got BIOS error and followed all on screen instructions to reset, download updates, etc. but still won't hold charge.  Visited service center at BestBuy they say battery failed and should be under the one year warranty. But HP warranty page for my "still new" device incredibly says the warranty start date was October 21, 2021 (13 months PRIOR to purchase) and end date was November 24, 2022 - the day AFTER my purchase.  I cannot get through to any HP support phone number - keeps hanging up on me during the phone tree selection. Have zero way to get someone at HP to (1) look at the warranty date error and (2) solve the battery problem. This is only apparently viable option to try to get someone's attention. Help please?
