I need to order Windows Vista 64 Bit for an HP Pavilion dv6t-1200 CT laptop. I don't see it on the driver and software page for the model. Does anyone know of a number I may call to see if they can be ordered?
Thanks!

HP does not keep the stock of older Recovery kits beyond Windows 7. You can order them from third party providers like the one as follows:
http://www.computersurgeons.com/
As this is a special configured model, please provide your product number to them instead of model number for exact recovery kit.

Vidya

Hi Vidya,
I posted a message see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Laptop-needs-to-be-repaired/m-p/...
I have issue cannot boot up my laptop, and it looks like I need revovery kit. According to your reply in the thread, I found it in available at http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-22907-windows-8-64-bit-recovery-kit-709686-002-for-hp-envy-cto-qua...
my question here, even though that my laptop has been apdated by windows update, and, I am not sure if it was updated to 8.1( the kid used the computer not me), will the recovery kit still work?
Thanks!

Thanks much for the information. It is not recommended to share serial number of your product in public forums.
Your system came with Windows 8 and if you have upgraded to Windows 8.1, doing a recovery will take the system back to Windows 8. Doing a Windows update will get you back to Windows 8.1.
Hope this answers your question.

Vidya

Thanks Vidya for the remind. 🙂 below it is the detail about my issue. would you might take a look and see if the recovery disc will likely resolve my issue
my laptop failed to boot up after an windows update. it saided that yout PC/Deivice needs to be repaired
the os couldn't be loaded because the kernel is missing or contains errors.
File: \Wiindows\systems 32\ntoskrnl.exe
error code :0xc0000225
you will need to use recovery toos. if you don't have any installation media, contact your pc admin or PC manufacturer.
also, I am asssuming that I don't need Window OS product key for system recovery/re-install with HP laptop, is it correct?

This is clearly a Operating System Files corruption issue. While there are many tedious steps to try to resolve the problem, which is again not fully guaranteed and may take some time to resolve.
A recovery using the Recovery kit created/purchased or using the inbuilt recovery solution if the partition is intact, will restore the system to factory settings. This will delete all your personal data stored on your computer and you will not be able to recover it in general available ways. However, your system will be fully functional.

Vidya
