Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Updated to Windows 10 last year. On a recent update, laptop stuck with spinning wheel for several hours.

Had no choice to manually shutdown.

On startup needed to recover and reinstall windows.

Recovery failed several times.

Next step: tried to download Windows 7 from Microsoft, response; your laptop has preinstalled software, need to contact manufactuer.

So how can I reinstall the original OS?

If you didn't make your Windows 7  Recovery set before installing Win 10 you can order them from HP:

You can also install Window 10 without the original OS since it had been previously installed and activated. Use the free Media Creation Tool from MS:

I would suggest checking the hard drive first. Either by tapping F2 at power on to open System Diagnostics. Or by tapping F10 at power on to enter BIOS and run Diagnostics.
