Hello,
Can someone please assist me in answering my question on how to reformat my laptop. The product name/number is HP Notebook 15-ac638tu. There was no CD ROM that came in my box when I first purchased it. Do I need to order a CD ROM from HP (is there a charge or is it free?), or can I download the software from the HP website? Thanks for your assistance.
Regards,
Stef

If you have a Recovery partition you can boot into recovery to format and reinstall. You can also use HP Recovery Manager to create Recovery Media. This is all dependent on the Recovery partition being intact.

Hi Banhien,
Thanks for your reply. Will I need a licence to key in order to reformat? I bought this laptop from a shop and Windows 10 has already been installed. There was no CD or DVD provided and no licence key. Will I be able to reformat it successfully without a licence key? Thanks again.

It does Not require a license key. Neither does making your Recovery Media and using it to format and reinstall.
